A: No, not at all… In fact, you will run to the transom regularly just to make sure your engines are on.

Should I repower my boat with a Evinrude or a Yamaha ?

A: It really depends on your boat, it’s current motors & your application. Yamaha primarily offers 4 stroke engines and Evinrude has only 2 stroke engines. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. One thing for sure is that you won’t lose with either one. Call me direct to discuss your specific application.

Do you have to use Evinrude E-tec oil to keep the warranty valid ?

A: No, The motors come from the factory set to run TCW 3 oil that can be found anywhere. However, we do recommend the use of XD-50 Evinrude oil because it’s semi synthetic and reasonably priced. We keep an ample supply on hand and can even deliver it to your door.

Do the E-tec engines really go 3 years or 300 hours without any maintenance?

A: Yes, In our experience they have gone the distance but in our extreme use & saltwater environment we recommend not to go the full 3 years without looking at it. The 12-18 month basic service is recommended
